Create your slideshow in Microsoft PowerPoint and then email it to him. If his mailbox has a size limit you may need to zip the file before sending it.
I am not certain what type of format you are using, but that is the only way to send a 'slideshow' through Hotmail.
If the pictures are digital you may want to use a free website like Kodak.com, where your friend can log on and view the slideshow there.
